Georgena has worked as a psychologist in the Toowoomba region since 2019, supporting clients of diverse backgrounds and ages. Along with private practice she has worked consistently in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings. At present most of Georgena’s clients are adolescents and adults who are neurodiverse and/or who have experienced trauma. Georgena also works with those who have diagnoses of anxiety, depression, and adjustment-type disorders. Georgena has training and experience in a range of therapeutic modalities including but not limited to: EMDR (being a trained EMDR practitioner and member of the EMDR Association of Australia), DBT-based skills training (individual and group delivery), ACT, CBT, and schema therapy. She is an advocate for evidence-based and trauma-informed care. Examples of this include co-authoring a book chapter exploring ASC and special interests, her current PhD research surrounding educational experiences for neurodiverse students, and her work over the last ten years supporting those who have experienced sexual assault. Prior to becoming a psychologist Georgena worked in mental health recovery and residential youth work.
