Bernard has worked in the mental health field since 2015 and has been practicing as a psychologist across Southeast Queensland since 2023. He is passionate about delivering meaningful, recovery-oriented therapy that empowers individuals to live fulfilling and purposeful lives on their own terms.

Bernard is trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed interventions. His approach is collaborative and flexible, tailored to each person’s goals and preferences. He focuses on both building day-to-day coping skills and resilience, and supporting deeper reflection, personal growth, and lasting change.

Bernard works with a broad range of presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, and other complex clinical issues. He has a particular interest in delivering focused short- to mid-term interventions and supporting people at different stages of their therapeutic journey—whether they’re new to therapy or have prior experience. He also values working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities, including rural and remote populations, First Nations peoples, neurodiverse individuals, and LGBTQ+ clients.

In addition to his clinical psychology training, Bernard holds a Master of Science degree with a major in neuroscience, enriching his understanding of the biological underpinnings of mental health and informing his holistic approach to care.
